The Gamlingay Food Project
Run in partnership with our brothers and sisters at St Mary’s, the Gamlingay Food Project was set up to support those in need in the community (and surrounding areas) as well as care for our planet by reducing food waste (and also feeding more people). It is located in the Alms House Chapel, on Church Street, across from the Pharmacy.
For more information, to volunteer, or to gain access to weekly food parcels, email the project Team Leader Ros on admin@gamlingayfoodproject.org.
The project has two ‘strands’ in operation:
The Community Fridge
The aim of this strand is to reduce food waste. We do this by taking food that would be thrown out and wasted from the local Co-Op, M&S in St Neots, Nisa in Potton, and a few other shops, and give it away from our Community Fridge (and freezer). The Community Fridge is open every Monday-Friday, from 10-12.
Do spread the word, come on down and help us reduce food waste.
The Gamlingay Need Project Hub
This strand is set up in partnership with the Need Project. Through this strand, we support households that are struggling for whatever reason, and deliver a food parcel up to once a week, at no cost. If you are in need, please don’t suffer in silence. Get in touch and we will help in any way we can.
If you would like to support the project, you can donate non-perishable goods either at the church or at the Alms House Chapel. Thank you for your support.
